Financial Services of Virginia was founded in 1986 and strives to act as a financial planner towards primarily affluent families and successful small business owners. We differentiate ourselves by offering comprehensive financial guidance on a variety of topics including investments, insurance, individual retirement planning, cash flow, and group retirement planning. We recognize that financial planning can be an overwhelming process, which is why we act with a fiduciary standard of care. This simply means we always put our clients' needs above our own throughout the financial planning process. Having this model lets us primarily work on a fee base and at times earn commissions from financial products, but only if it fits each client's unique scenario. Besides working with individual clients, we conduct financial planning workshops at local employers in the Richmond, VA area. We consider ourselves as financial educators and believe that everybody should have access to quality financial education. These workshops primarily focus on 401(k) investors, but we consult investors that have access to 403(b) plans, SEP IRAs, SIMPLE IRAs and even deferred compensation plans. We use our decades of experience to outline factors to consider when selecting investments like prices, investment holdings, expense ratios, among others. Our team believes that constant education is mutually beneficial for both ourselves and our clients. Therefore, we strive to keep up to date on current issues through a variety of custom and comprehensive resources like the ones through our custom financial advisor content portal. Justin and Mark are currently enrolled at the American college pursuing additional professional designations.Apart from helping others reach their financial goals, we believe that it's crucial to make a positive impact through community service. Thus, many of our members actively participate in charitable events through organizations such as the Goochland Rotary and the Goochland Business & Community Foundation. We are also active in volunteering with groups like Boy Scouts of America, Junior Achievement, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
